Brunch Weekend arrives in Sao Paulo

Festival brings together, from Saturday, 20 chimes homes, 50 unpublished recipes and menus at the fixed price of R $ 49 Reais

Each house brunch set up his suggestion, a la carte, for  Reais 49 per person including a glass of Chandon sparkling wine or a brunch typical drink made with Chandon. The participants of this first edition are: The pizza Mooca, Befresh Restaurant, Bossa, BOS BBQ, Bra.do, Camden House, Cateto (Pine Drive), Chez MIS Chez Oscar, Clos Restaurant, Feed Food, Frank & Charles, La Cucina Piemontese, Deluxe Laundry, Groceries do Conde, RESTRO, Ruaa, Sweetshop, Table and Tartuferia San Paolo. The festival always takes place on May weekends, from 11 to 17 hours (depending on each house of opening hours).
According to KRP agency responsible for other successful labels like festivals Burger Fest and Sanduweek, the idea is to bring to São Paulo a bit of culture and New York-style brunch and stir the food scene in the city, especially in a year crisis. "There is more fun meal than brunch. In Brazil, the brunch always was very restricted to hotels. Our proposal is to bring the true soul of the brunch that combines gastronomy and coquetelaria" explains Kelly Lobos, partner of KRP and one of idealizing the event. "Lacked such a festival in the city. It was the New York brunch culture popularized by the world drinks classics like Mimosa and Bellini," explains Paola Mastrocolla, Marketing Manager of Chandon.
Menu: travel gastronomical
The "small" coffee or late lunch, perfect for lazy days where you wake up later, will bring typical items breakfast (breads, cakes, juices, fruits, jams), the classic American brunch (pancakes, muffins, french toast, cinnamon rolls) but also further strengthened dishes (potatoes, eggs with bacon, eggs benedict, salad with salmon etc.). About 50 recipes brunch were created for this edition of the festival. The inspiration was New York, but each house has created a menu with your own DNA and ingredients. In all, there are the drinks made with sparkling Chandon and its varieties Chandon Réserve Brut (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Riesling Italico) and Chandon Passion (sparkling pink shades, made from grapes Malvasia Bianca, Malvasia Candia and Moscato Canelli).

The Chandon Mimosa is the official drink of the event, present in all homes. The recipe used is the classic sparkling wine with orange juice. Created at the Ritz in Paris in 1925, the Mimosa is a light and elegant drink. In essence, it is a variation of the English fizzes (including grenadine) and was baptized with the name of a delicate flower and inspiring. Another timeless and seductive drink, present in many of the festival menus, is Chandon Bellini (sparkling wine with peach puree). Created at Harry's Bar in Venice in 1948, the original recipe is made from the juice of fresh white peaches. It was a tribute to Giuseppe Cipriani, owner and founder of the legendary Harry's Bar, the Venetian painter Giovanni Bellini (1430-1516), who liked to use in his paintings peach tones. Both drinks have a tradition of being served in a flute glass.

In this climate of colors and flavors, award-winning chefs, as Elisa Hill, gastropub Camden House (best cuisine of premium bars in the city, according to the jury Eating & Drinking 2015 Veja São Paulo); Arnor Porto (pastry chef award in 2012 by the magazine Prazeres da Mesa), now in space Sweetshop, confectionary in coworking scheme, Higienópolis; or Adriana Cymes, known banqueteira the city and in front of the Feed Food in Pinheiros, accepted the challenge to create exclusive recipes for the event and extend working hours from their homes to attend the festival.

Each chef will give the touch of their cuisine to the festival. There will be, for example, from brunch inspiration from northern Italy (as proposed by double Leandro Polack and Leslie Manzini chefs at La Cucina Piemontese, Alphaville) to the Porteño accent and Spanish (if the Bra.do restaurants, Clos and Ruaa). The chef Flavia Marioto (colorful Mercearia do Conde, in Joaquim Antunes, restô complete to 25 in 2016) will offer Chandon Mimosa with a range of organic tangerine juice (the members of the family farm coming), a classic of the house, side dishes like roasted in the Lithuanian grain bread with salmon gravlax, grilled zucchini, dill and chèvre. For the festival, the Cateto bar, Pines, keeps the focus on cheeses and sausages of small producers, served on boards, and harmonized with Chandon Mimosa and the home bartender creations, as the drinks Bourbon Merry (bourbon, tomato juice house with pout & bacon peppers) and Bees Knees (gin, lemon juice and honey).

Festival reúne, a partir deste sábado, 20 casas badaladas, 50 receitas inéditas e menus ao preço fixo de R$49


Cada casa montou sua sugestão de brunch, à la carte, por R$ 49 por pessoa, incluindo uma taça de espumante Chandon ou um drinque típico de brunch feito com Chandon. Os participantes desta primeira edição são: A Pizza da Mooca, Befresh Restaurante, Bossa, BOS BBQ, Bra.do, Camden House, Cateto (unidade de Pinheiros), Chez MIS, Chez Oscar, Clos Restaurante, Feed Food, Frank & Charles, La Cucina Piemontese, Laundry Deluxe, Mercearia do Conde, Restrô, Ruaa, Sweetshop, Table e Tartuferia San Paolo. O festival ocorre sempre aos fins de semana de maio, das 11 às 17 horas (dependendo do horário de funcionamento de cada casa).
Segundo a agência KRP, responsável por outros selos de sucesso como os festivais Burger Fest e Sanduweek, a ideia é trazer a São Paulo um pouco da cultura e do estilo nova-iorquino do brunch e agitar o cenário gastronômico da cidade, especialmente num ano de crise. "Não existe refeição mais divertida do que o brunch. No Brasil, o brunch sempre ficou muito restrito a hotéis. Nossa proposta é trazer a verdadeira alma do brunch, que alia gastronomia e coquetelaria", explica Kelly Lobos, sócia da KRP e uma das idealizadoras do evento.  "Faltava um festival assim na cidade. Foi a cultura do brunch nova-iorquino que popularizou pelo mundo drinques clássicos como Mimosa e Bellini", explica Paola Mastrocolla, gerente de Marketing da Chandon. 

Menu: viagens gastronômicas
O "pequeno" café ou almoço tardio, perfeito para os dias de preguiça, em que se acorda mais tarde, trará itens típicos de café da manhã (pães, bolos, sucos, frutas, geleias), os clássicos do brunch americano (panquecas, muffins, french toast, cinnamon rolls), mas também pratos mais reforçados (batatas, ovos com bacon, ovos Benedict, salada com salmão etc.).  Cerca de 50 receitas de brunch foram criadas para esta edição do festival. A inspiração foi Nova Iorque, mas cada casa criou um menu com o seu DNA e ingredientes próprios. Em todos, estão os drinques feitos com o espumante Chandon e as suas variedades Chandon Réserve Brut (uvas Chardonnay, Pinot Noir e Riesling Itálico) e Chandon Passion (espumante de tons rosados, feito a partir das uvas Malvasia Bianca, Malvasia de Cândia e Moscato Canelli). 
O Chandon Mimosa é o drinque oficial do evento, presente em todas as casas. A receita utilizada é a clássica de espumante com suco de laranja. Criado no Ritz de Paris, em 1925, o Mimosa é um drinque leve e elegante. Na essência, é uma variação dos fizzes ingleses (que incluem grenadine) e foi batizado com o nome de uma flor delicada e inspiradora. Outro drinque atemporal e sedutor, presente em muitos dos menus do festival, é o Chandon Bellini (espumante com purê de pêssego). Criado no Harry's Bar de Veneza, em 1948, a receita original é feita a partir do sumo de pêssegos brancos frescos. Foi uma homenagem de Giuseppe Cipriani, dono e fundador do lendário Harry's Bar, ao pintor veneziano Giovanni Bellini (1430-1516), que gostava de usar em seus quadros os tons de pêssego. Ambos os drinques têm como tradição serem servidos em uma taça flûte.
Nesse clima de cores e sabores, chefs premiados, como Elisa Hill, do gastropub Camden House (prêmio de melhor cozinha de bares da cidade, segundo o júri da Comer & Beber 2015, da Veja São Paulo); Arnor Porto (prêmio de chef pâtissier, em 2012, pela revista Prazeres da Mesa), agora com espaço na Sweetshop, confeitaria em esquema de coworking, de Higienópolis; ou Adriana Cymes, conhecida banqueteira da cidade e à frente do Feed Food, em  Pinheiros, aceitaram o desafio de criar receitas exclusivas para o evento e ampliar o horário de funcionamento de suas casas para atender ao festival.
Cada chef dará o toque de sua culinária ao festival. Haverá, por exemplo, desde brunch de inspiração no Norte da Itália (como o proposto pelo casal de chefs Leandro Polack e Leslie Manzini no La Cucina Piemontese, de Alphaville) até os de sotaque portenho e espanhol (caso dos restaurantes Bra.do, Clos e Ruaa). A chef Flávia Marioto (da colorida Mercearia do Conde, na Joaquim Antunes, restô que completa 25 anos em 2016) oferecerá a Chandon Mimosa com uma variação, suco de mexerica orgânica (vinda da fazenda da família das sócias), um clássico da casa, ao lado de acompanhamentos como tostada no pão lituano de grãos com gravlax de salmão, abobrinha grelhada, dill e chèvre. Para o festival, o bar Cateto, de Pinheiros, mantém a ênfase nos queijos e embutidos de pequenos produtores, servidos em tábuas, e harmonizados com Chandon Mimosa e criações do bartender da casa, como os drinques Bourbon Merry (bourbon, suco de tomate da casa com pimentas biquinho & bacon) e Bees Knees (gim, suco de limão siciliano e mel).
O gastropub inglês Camden House, no Itaim Bibi, ou o contemporâneo Table, dos Jardins, que já oferecem tradicionalmente brunch, montaram combos exclusivos para o festival, com opções recheadas de clássicos como panquecas, rabanadas ou French Toasts (pain perdu ou torrada francesa, a nossa rabanada, mas no pão de forma) e os Eggs Benedict. O prato é originalmente nova-iorquino. O casal Le Grand Benedict, dois clientes tradicionais do restaurante Delmonico, de Nova Iorque, é responsável pela criação, em 1920. Enfadada com as opções do menu, a senhora Le Grand Benedict pediu algo original. Como resposta, o restaurante criou o que se tornaria um clássico de brunch pelo mundo afora: ovos pochés, com presunto salteado na manteiga, cobertos com molho holandês e servido sobre muffins ou torradas.
Os ovos Benedict também estarão no menu da Laundry Deluxe, nos Jardins, uma lavanderia gourmet com bar, restaurante e galeria de arte. Lugar descolado que vale, por si só, a visita (nunca lavar roupa foi algo tão prazeroso na cidade). Caso também do Chez MIS, sob o comando do jovem chef Raphael Cesana, no Jardim Europa. Erguido atrás do Museu da Imagem e do Som (MIS), o restaurante é inundado pela luz natural e tem uma vista relaxante para os jardins do museu. Cenário idílico para um brunch, antes ou depois de uma visita às exposições de arte. Com tantas opções, cada fim de semana terá um clima de festa na cidade e os restaurantes vão se transformar em "brunch spots", pontos de encontro de amigos e gourmets. Brunch Weekend arrives in Sao Paulo

Festival brings together, from Saturday, 20 chimes homes, 50 unpublished recipes and menus at the fixed price of R $ 49

According to KRP agency responsible for other successful labels like festivals Burger Fest and Sanduweek, the idea is to bring to São Paulo a bit of culture and New York-style brunch and stir the food scene in the city, especially in a year crisis. "There is more fun meal than brunch. In Brazil, the brunch always was very restricted to hotels. Our proposal is to bring the true soul of the brunch that combines gastronomy and coquetelaria" explains Kelly Lobos, partner of KRP and one of idealizing the event. "Lacked such a festival in the city. It was the New York brunch culture popularized by the world drinks classics like Mimosa and Bellini," explains Paola Mastrocolla, Marketing Manager of Chandon.



Menu: travel gastronomical





The "small" coffee or late lunch, perfect for lazy days where you wake up later, will bring typical items breakfast (breads, cakes, juices, fruits, jams), the classic American brunch (pancakes, muffins, french toast, cinnamon rolls) but also further strengthened dishes (potatoes, eggs with bacon, eggs benedict, salad with salmon etc.). About 50 recipes brunch were created for this edition of the festival. The inspiration was New York, but each house has created a menu with your own DNA and ingredients. In all, there are the drinks made with sparkling Chandon and its varieties Chandon Réserve Brut (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Riesling Italico) and Chandon Passion (sparkling pink shades, made from grapes Malvasia Bianca, Malvasia Candia and Moscato Canelli).





The Chandon Mimosa is the official drink of the event, present in all homes. The recipe used is the classic sparkling wine with orange juice. Created at the Ritz in Paris in 1925, the Mimosa is a light and elegant drink. In essence, it is a variation of the English fizzes (including grenadine) and was baptized with the name of a delicate flower and inspiring. Another timeless and seductive drink, present in many of the festival menus, is Chandon Bellini (sparkling wine with peach puree). Created at Harry's Bar in Venice in 1948, the original recipe is made from the juice of fresh white peaches. It was a tribute to Giuseppe Cipriani, owner and founder of the legendary Harry's Bar, the Venetian painter Giovanni Bellini (1430-1516), who liked to use in his paintings peach tones. Both drinks have a tradition of being served in a flute glass.
